Labrianidis Lois

L. Labrianidis is Professor in the Department of Economic Sciences, University of Macedonia Greece; as well as founder and head of the Regional Development and Planning Research Unit (RDPRU - http://econlab.uom.gr/~rdpru). He is an economic geographer (MA -Sussex, Ph.D. -LSE) and has done research and published on topics such as industrial location, the spatial aspects of subcontracting, the economic implications of peripheral universities on their locality, rural entrepreneurship, foreign direct investment, economic consequences of immigration. His scholarly publications include four books: The spatial aspects of subcontracting relations in manufacturing production. Paratiritis; Provincial universities in Greece Paratiritis;  Albanian immigrants in Thessaloniki (co-authored), Paratiritis  Economic geography, Patakis;  (editor) The future of Europe’s Rural Periphery, Ashgate, and (editor) (forthcoming) The Moving Frontier: The Changing Geography of Production in Labour Intensive Industries, Ashgate
